I am so pleased that Clive Efford’s National Health Service (Amended Duties and Powers) Bill, brought to stop the destruction of our NHS, secured a second reading today.
Every week this Tory/LibDem government is in power and every week that the Health and Social Care Act is in force, we lose more of our NHS to privatisation, waste and downgrading. And David Cameron has confirmed that he will not even exclude the NHS from TTIP.
It was notable that the MP for Hornsey & Wood Green, despite hundreds of her constituents taking the time to ask her to support the Bill, once again sided with her Tory colleagues and refused to vote for the Bill.
Hornsey & Wood Green needs an MP who will stand up for local people on the things that matter. The NHS is something worth fighting for.
