To mark International Women’s Day 2019, I’ll be hosting a meeting from 7-8.30pm on Monday 11 March in Committee Room 8 **please note the change of room** at the House of Commons with the support of Hornsey & Wood Green Labour Women’s Group.
Focussing on Women led households: the challenges of austerity and Universal Credit, I’ll be chairing the meeting with speakers including:
- Claire Woods, one of four single mothers who won a recent high court battle against the DWP supported by the Child Poverty Action Group.
- Dr Rupa Huq MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Single Parent Families.
- Ema Howling, North West London friendship group for Gingerbread, the charity for single parent families.
- Kellie Dorrington, Operations & Development Manager, Citizens Advice Haringey
