Catherine West MP MP for Hornsey & Wood Green and Labour Candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet
Catherine West MP will be chairing a public meeting at the Royal British Legion Hall, N10 this Saturday 13 April from 12.30pm-3pm on Haringey in a time of climate emergency. The meeting will look at what Haringey Council is doing, what residents can do and what the Government should be doing to defend our environment.
Catherine said: “We need urgent action to tackle the escalating ecological crisis and I’d like to see this Government joining Labour in declaring a national environment and climate emergency. It is young people who will pay the price of this generation’s failure to act while global temperatures rise to increasingly dangerous levels. Everything we do in Parliament must be judged by whether we are making progress on reducing carbon emissions and fighting the effects of climate change. This means doing things in an entirely different way, so we have a permanent low-carbon sustainable economy.”
