Catherine West MP MP for Hornsey & Wood Green and Labour Candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet
At Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday I challenged Boris Johnson about the appalling state of some of our school buildings following ten years of Tory Government.
I told him “last Friday I visited a school in my constituency, and in 2020 the state of the school buildings was Dickensian, with leaking roofs, rusty shower rooms and mouldy changing areas. When will the Government understand that the cost of education is high, but that it is a worthy investment in the future of our schools? Whether a child is a whizz kid or is needy, every child deserves to be at school in an excellent and inspiring school building.”
Watch my question and the Prime Minister’s inadequate response here.
