The exam results debacle is an outrageous injustice for A-level students, and it could have been avoided if the Government had acted sooner.

Since Thursday my inbox has been full of messages from heartbroken students and their families.  On Sunday I attended the socially distanced demonstration in Parliament Square to show my support.

It’s not enough for the Government to say they’ll pay for appeals, when it will be too late for many students who’ve lost their university offered places.  I believe a return to teacher assessments is the best option available and will continue working with my colleagues to resolve this grossly unfair situation.

Sign our petition and demand the Government rethinks its approach.

I have today written to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission to urge that they investigate this debacle and the disproportionate impact on those from BAME and disadvantaged backgrounds.  Read my letter here:
