In advance of Small Business Saturday, I met with the Manager of the Mall in Wood Green to talk about issues affecting local businesses as they cope with the impact of Covid-19.

Small businesses are the beating heart of our community – shops, pubs, manufacturers, salons, suppliers and all those that make up the vibrant fabric of the area.

Businesses raised with me their wish to see a review of the business rates systems and I’ve since written to the Chancellor about this request and to highlight concerns over the further impact of Brexit at what is already such a difficult time.
