I was in Parliament today for the Education Secretary Gavin Williamson’s statement on school closures following the Christmas break.  During his statement he wasn’t able to list any of the areas where schools would remain close, but shortly after his Department snuck out a list which includes our neighbouring boroughs of Enfield and Barnet but not Haringey.

There seems to  be no obvious logic to this decision and there has been no consultation with the local council or local school leaders.  It’s no surprise that my inbox tonight is inundated with messages from anxious teachers and parents and I’ve urgently written to Gavin Williamson to request clarity and a review.
