Catherine West MP said: “The situation facing the Rohingya people in Burma is horrific. Over the past year, over 680,000 people have fled Rakhine State to Bangladesh leaving their homes and possessions behind to escape violence and persecution. More than half were children.
The UN’s report, published this week, accuses Myanmar’s military of carrying out mass killings and gang rapes with “genocidal intent”. The perpetrators of these atrocities must be brought to justice.
As one of the Patrons of Justice for the Rohingya Minority, I will be speaking at this event on Monday 3 September. Please join me.”
