Catherine West Working hard for Hornsey & Friern Barnet
UK/EU relations

I remain extremely disappointed that the result of the 2019 General Election means we have left the European Union. I voted to remain and as President of London 4 Europe I stood alongside the 42,000 EU citizens, our friends and neighbours who have made Haringey their home and campaigned to have their rights guaranteed.
Although we are now outside the European Union I still believe we must fight for a close relationship with our nearest neighbours. It is beyond reckless that as our economy pays the price of the Tory cost-of-living crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine, we are also dealing with the financial impact of the incompetent negotiations of successive Conservative Government. I want to support local businesses whose livelihoods have been affected by Brexit – get in touch if I can assist in any way.
