Refugees

Our country has a proud history of helping those fleeing conflict and persecution and since I was first elected in 2015, I’ve stood up for refugees.

In Parliament, I repeatedly voted against the cruel Tory Rwanda scheme and pushed for a fair and decent asylum system that tackles the criminal gangs causing such misery, promptly processes applications, and offers sanctuary to vulnerable people fleeing conflict and persecution.
