I was drawn in the ballot for Women & Equalities Parliamentary Questions on 25 January and asked the Minister “if she will make an assessment of the  implication for her policies of trends in child poverty levels for Black, Asian and minority ethnic children.”

12 years of Tory austerity and we have seen dramatic increases in deep child poverty, the use of food banks and household debt. Black, Asian and minority ethnic children have been disproportionally impacted by these cruel cuts and what happens in the earliest years has a huge impact on life chances. That’s why I called on the Minister to do more to support vulnerable children.  Watch here:
