On behalf of the Labour front bench I took part in a debate on the future status of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The CPA is a voluntary organisation of branches in every 180 Commonwealth Parliaments and Assemblies and does vital work in fostering engagement and understanding on a mutually beneficial basis, with its HQ here in Westminster.

Despite this there has been mounting concern about the viability of the CPA, as a UK-registered Charity, and there has been demands to change its status to facilitate its continued operation from here in Westminster.
