The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on many disabled people in our community.  Inclusion London produced a powerful report following the first lockdown which revealed that too many disabled people felt abandoned, isolated and unable to access vital support.  Many parents of disabled children have also told me they’ve struggled with school closures, obtaining or updating EHCPs or accessing vital therapies.

Thank you to everyone who took part in my special zoom call for constituents on Covid-19 and Disability, held on Friday 22 January, chaired by Haringey Mayor Cllr Adam Jogee.  I wanted to hear how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected you so I can raise these issues in Parliament and fight for better support for disabled people and their families.

Thanks also to Cllr Kirsten Hearn who recorded this audio introduction which was played at the meeting.

If you couldn’t take part, but have any concerns you think I might be able to help with please do get in touch.
