The Labour Party conference in Liverpool this year demonstrated a clear Labour plan for a greener, fairer future. At a time where the Tory Government is collapsing, with Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng crashing the economy and piling pain on ordinary people, Keir Starmer and the shadow Cabinet set out bold policies for a better future including thousands more medical training places, a state owned Great British Energy to spur investment in the green economy, 13000 community police officers to tackle crime in our communities, and the renationalisation of our railways.

These are the pragmatic plans for Britain which demonstrate the difference between a Labour Party which cares and a Tory Party which is at the end of its political life.

As a shadow Foreign Office Minister I took part in a range of meetings and events talking about issues as wide ranging as democracy in Hong Kong, protecting public procurement from the Chinese Communist Party, and our abiding relationship with the Labour Friends of Bangladesh and Pakistan groups. The hard work continues back in London and I will continue working with my colleagues to build on the momentum from conference and secure a progressive Labour Government with Keir Starmer as our Prime Minister at the next election.

It cant come soon enough.
