Catherine West MP MP for Hornsey & Wood Green and Labour Candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet
I was pleased to be granted a Parliamentary debate on Wednesday 7th December to discuss employment and the high street. In Hornsey & Wood Green and across the country our small businesses and our high streets have had a tough few years. A pandemic, the cost of living, increased bills, staff shortages and supply chain issues have all had an impact. High streets are changing as people switch to shopping online – or find themselves forced to as banks and shops close their doors.
In my debate I raised a number of issues on employment and high streets with a government minister. I want to thank all the local traders groups and the small business owners and customers from across the country who shared their experiences and ideas with me.
