Social care is in crisis and for 13 years the Tories have failed to deliver long-promised reform.

I’ve been visiting sheltered housing across Hornsey & Wood Green and seeing the impact of these failings on people’s lives and at PMQs yesterday I urged the Government to act.

Watch my question – and the Deputy PMs response here:

A Labour Government will work towards a first-class National Care Service, and I have been interested to see the report today published by the Fabian Society and Unison the Union about how this could be achieved.  Labour will be looking very closely at these recommendations as we develop fully costed manifesto proposals for the next General Election.
