Help us build a fairer, safer, greener London
Help us build a fairer, safer, greener London

Congratulations Sadiq Khan on securing a record third term, and to London Assembly Members Joanne McCartney AM and Anne Clarke – London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden on your re-election!

Thank you to everyone who voted and to all our amazing Hornsey & Friern Barnet Labour Party volunteers who worked so incredibly hard during the campaign.

In these results, Londoners have voted for a fairer, greener, safer future and rejected the hard-right politics of hate. We’ve already seen what a bold Labour Mayor can achieve: cleaning up London’s air, building thousands of new council homes, bringing free school meals to all our primary schools and standing up for the diversity of our great city. Just think what more Sadiq could do with a Labour Government. Bring on the General Election!

Here is what a third term will mean for people in Hornsey & Wood Green, Harringay & Friern Barnet:

  • Free school meals for all state primary school children savings families up to £1,000 while providing over 10 million free meals during school holidays and at weekends to low income Londoners.
  • More neighbourhood police on our streets with an extra £151 million invested into policing and crime prevention in 2024-25 and youth services to provide positive support for young people including after school.
  • Cleaner air and action to clean our rivers tackling the climate emergency, creating new green spaces, investing in public transport and active travel, air filters in our schools and helping local businesses cut their emissions.
  • TfL fares frozen for five years making public transport 21% cheaper than it would have been if fares had risen with inflation.  Introducing the Elizabeth line, Superloop, and the hopper fair, as well as setting out plans for Superloop 2 to better connect Barnet, Enfield and Chingford.
  • Record numbers of council homes built working with Haringey Council to build 3,000 new council homes as part of 40,000 across London, whilst standing up for London’s 2.7 million renters.
